All I'll say is, anyone who's been around SM long enough knows... We've been here before. This is NOT new. The sense of entitlement and then retaliation has ALWAYS been exorbitant and brutal from SME. My love/hate relationship gets closer and closer to hate as the years go on. It wasn't as (in SOME cases) bad under LSM. This NEW jawn in charge...? SM has always been the perfect microcosm of the entire landscape socially and politically in SK. There's no convincing me of otherwise. It sucks, and as international fans, especially, there's little to nothing we can do about it. It will continue to happen until the sentiment changes surrounding artists/musicians/"idols" in the industry.

In other words: I’ve tuned so far out of kpop, especially when it comes to this shit, that I can’t bring myself to emotionally invest anymore.Last time I actively checked in was 2020. The only reason I know BTS is having a comeback is because of other fans I’ve heard express wanting tickets on Discord servers.
So much unraveling is happening globally this year, especially in this BASS ACKWARDS United(?) States, that I’m all “Let the unraveling continue because the exploitation and toxicity in the kpop industry has gone on so freaking LONG?? This has BEEN unusual long time and if shit stinks and needs to come to light?? FINE.” I just hate to see all this mess and harm—the DAMAGE done.
SM also seems to be in a kinda delusional place?? Like they’re expecting the f’cked up strategies that worked for them 20 years ago is somehow gonna fly now. And it’s cringey to see them try. They can’t treat ppl like commodities and expect NO one to notice their shit stinking. But greedy parasites are not known for scarcity of audacity.
